Keyword Density Doesn’t Matter, Usually…
Some bloggers and internet marketers swear by it. I’ve heard it over and over that “you need to increase your keyword density” or “don’t go too high or it will considered spammy”. The idea just makes sense doesn’t it?
I must admit on the surface without any careful consideration the thought of an ideal density makes sense. However this is just not the case. KD tools are not useless altogether. They might inform you that you haven’t used your keyword at all or you might be overdoing it.
Outside of that there is no real value in the measurement.
Google and Its Bots
A vast majority of people who use Google, and most who are trying to rank on it, have little understanding of how it works. So let us start with the basics. Google uses programs directed by their algorithms, otherwise known as bots, to “crawl” through pages on the WWW.
The Googlebot reads through the information on a page, follows links, and indexes the content as it moves through the web. All of this information is sorted and stored on thousands of servers across the country for retrieval from searchers in fractions of a second.
